After Anaheim in September, Bowie scrapped the “Diamond Dogs” stage set and did a series of stripped down concerts, wearing the outfit he appeared in on the “Dick Cavett Show.”
Saw the Diamond Dogs tour in Charlotte 7/5/74 followed by Greensboro the next night. Charlotte was packed and I was so faint with excitement I needed help to get to my seat. The Greensboro audience barely filled half of the auditorium and no one seemed to really know much about Bowie. I peered into the backseat of his limousine and saw his future. There was an 8 track James Brown tape.
