I only went to the Sunday night Arts Lab once (I was only 16) but I also went to the first midweek Arts Lab folk night with Shirley and Dolly Collins in early 1970.
In 1969 I went to the free festival in Bromley Library Gardens and the following summer in Queens Mead park, where Peter Green performed.
The last time I saw Bowie was at Manchester’s Free Trade Hall in 1972 and it was half empty – but a great gig.
One of my school classmates, Mark Pritchett (changed his name to Pritchard-Carr) played with Bowie, who produced Arnold Corns, a band consisting of more school friends.
