Bowie selected the two shows in the Spectrum for recording the live double of the tour Stage.
“I’m happy to be in Philadelphia tonight,it’s one of our favorite cities. Four years ago we recorded our live album David Live here and we liked the results so much we’ve decided to record our second live album here over the next two nights”.

  1. I was going on 14 when this album came out, at the time, I had only discovered David Bowie about a year or so before, and didn’t discover this gem of an album until two years after it came out, and I had it on 8-track, and played the hell out of it; all of the tracks that were performed live completely elevate the studio versions of previously released albums, and to this day, still haunt me and I never tire of watching video from the concert shot nearly 50-years ago. I wish I could have found out about this concert and a way to get to Philadelphia from NYC to see it. The musical world is at a loss without the Thin White Duke, and I miss him terribly, as I’m sure do many others.
